There is the older Kosovo A, where units 3,4 and 5 are kept in operation. Units 1 and 2 have been definitively shut down. The units have a projected power of 200 MW, but are operated in a mode with power of up to 150 MW. The newer power plant is Kosovo B. The Kosovo C Power Plant is intended for the future. The area around Pristine is very rich in lignite reserves.
