The pot features an armorial to one side and the monograms of a couple to the other. Later chased with scrolls and foliate decoration. Underneath the armorial is the Latin motto ESSE QUAM VIDERI which translates as TO BE, RATHER THAN TO SEEM. Condition is excellent, with light surface wear commensurate with age.
