Of bellied form, featuring a crest and motto to one side, with chased leaf and vine detail. The handle and knop are of ebonised wood. The domed cover is chased with leaf and vine detail. The crest and motto are for the family of Elliot of Minto in the County of Roxburghshire in the Scottish Borders. They were created Baronets of Novia Scotia in 1700. It is likely that this coffee pot belonged to William Hugh Elliot Murray
